DESIGN FOR LANGUAGES
'British are officially the worst language learners in Europe!' (British Council 2015)
Self-directed brief for my final year university project. The focus was to design tools for families to learn multiple languages together, in the comfort of their home. This project explores a combination of: UX, toy design, coding electronics, textiles and pattern making, graphic design and illustration: all forming visual cues for an immersive learning experience. The project was split into two designs: Furrlingo and Slinguistics where multifunctionality and product value are key.

Furrlingo is an interactive electronic soft toy. It has an interactive paw which enables it to read along with you.
Furrlingo is not only a comforter for the child but there to support you, the parent too, by pronouncing any words you may not be comfortable with - without your child realising! Let's make multi-generational learning an experience you'll never forget!

Slinguistics is aimed at enhancing the language learning experience from day one - literally from day one in your mother's belly!

Slinguistics consists of two components:

- the belly band audio experience so you can start learning a foreign language whilst the baby can also become familiar with it. This component is then carried over as the back supporter for your baby carrier.

- the baby carrier audio experience where you can continue to learn on the go and as a family.
